Football returns again!

After a three month absence, football returned to Gynsill Lane this weekend with 17 teams in action.

Our U8 Hawks scored some impressive goals in their game against Groby, while the U9 Foxes played some good football in their game against Anstey.

The U13 Hawks put in a proud performance against a very good Lutterworth side. The two teams were two divisions apart before Christmas, but following the Hawks promotion into division C they came away with a 4-2 defeat this morning. The U15 Foxes were comfortable 3-0 winners against Mowbray Rangers and close the gap on the league leaders following other results. The U16's gave a very good performance against a strong Cosby side and despite losing 3-1, more than matched their opponents. The U17's lost 3-0 to Highfield Rangers but put in a strong first half display, with all the damage being done in the second half.

At South Charnwood the U11 Hawks started their Trophy campaign with a 4-1 defeat to Whetstone, while the U12 Lions lost 5-3 to Loughborough.

Away from home, yesterday saw our U7's make the short trip to Kirby and put in an impressive performance. Today, the U8 Foxes gave a spirited display at Asfordby, while the U9 Hawks had an off day at Leicester Nirvana. The U10 Foxes continued where they left off in their long trip to Medbourne.

The U11 Foxes started their Trophy matches with a 3-1 defeat at Epworth while the U12 Foxes just ran out of legs at Aylestone Park, losing 4-2 in the last few minutes.

The U13 Lions were unfortunate with injuries as they lost 8-0 at Quorn while the U14 Hawks narrowly lost 2-1 at Riverside and the U15 Hawks 4-1 at Lutterworth.

The seniors snatched an 89th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 at Blaby Foxes as they started their Alliance Cup campaign with a point.
