17 teams in action - 3 go top of their divisions

Not the busiest of days at Gynsill Lane as a few teams had no games as half-term comes to an end, but still 17 teams playing across the county.

At Gynsill Lane the U8 Hawks had an exciting and end-to-end friendly with Groby. The U12 Lions had their league game against Shepshed postponed during the week but still got some minutes under their belts with a friendly against Desford who they will play again next week. The U14 Foxes returned to league action but squandered a three goal lead, drawing 3-3 to Syston and conceding an equaliser with the last kick of the game.

At our other home venues, the senior side remain unbeaten and have gone up to second with a 4-2 win at County Hall against Dukla. At South Charnwood the U11 Vixens had a close game against Thurlaston, while the U12 Foxes lost 5-1 to Saffron Dynamo. At Beaumont Leys School the U16's played their first game since the opening weekend and got their first three points of the season to boot, holding on to beat Ravenstone 5-4.

Away from home the U7's got more minutes as they made the short trip to Anstey, while the U8 Foxes gave a good performance against a Stoke Golding side from a higher level. The U9 Hawks played Whetstone who they played in a league fixture just a few weeks ago but couldn't repeat the same performance. The U10 Foxes travelled out of county to Derbyshire as they played Allenton All Stars for their friendly and continued their good run of form.

The U11 Hawks played Stoke Golding for the second time in three weeks but couldn't repeat their impressive performance this time around. The U12 Hawks were 2-0 winners at Rothley to go top of their division.

Both U13's were away, as the Lions made the long trip to Oakham but lost 5-0 against league leaders Royce Rangers. The Hawks made the shorter trip to Victoria Park to play Carib and came away with a 4-3 win, a result that sees them go joint top of their division. The U14 Hawks gave a good first half performance but went down 4-1 at Lutterworth. The U15 Foxes are also top of their division following a 6-3 win away to Burbage Old Boys.
