Up, up and away we go

New season, new faces and a rather big squad of 18 all vying for place in the match day squad and a first start of the season. Unfortunately we had Ollie and Shecaniah injured so that saved me and Steve the headache of selecting 16, but everyone will be involved, we are fighting on 3 fronts with the county and league cups, its down to the lads to force their way into contention by training hard, showing up ready to go in the right kit at the right time with the right attitude.

Bench - Mozza, Ethan (Capt), Lewis, Phil Harry

Scary start to the game as Fleckney had the better chances. We settled once we scored the first goal, Kirky bagging his first of the season to go with the 5 he bagged last season, its looking like a very fruitful return to his old club.

The coaching sessions on defending paid off as we were very solid as a unit, the game plan being for Joe to mark their star striker and Melad to drop off and organise. Yeah it was scrappy at times, but its the first league game, there were nerves, but we dug in and battled through to half time with a 1 nil lead.

We made a few changes during the first half and a couple second half to try and balance the side out. We scored another goal, Kirky bagging his second from a JB assist.

This time it was Fleckneys turn, we'd made a few more changes, they pushed on and we got caught napping.

We settle down and pushed back. We were worried that the goal might rock the boat a little but thankfully the lads when straight back at them, we created a few decent chances and finally got the third goal to settle the nerves. This time it was an indirect freekick into the box from Alfie, assist was from Kirky who returned the favor to JB who slotted home.

A few more chances for the Foxes, Kirky had a wonderful chance to bag a trick, but the score stayed at 3-1. Man of the match was Joe, their goal machine didn't get much of sniff, Melad ran him a close second though.
