13 teams in action as grassroots football makes a comeback

After 4 weeks of no football due to the national lockdown, 13 Glenfield United teams were in action today and all chomping at the bit to play some competitive football.

Just two games at Gynsill Lane as the U11 Hawks welcomed Narborough Foxes and created lots of chanced in an end-to-end game . The U15 Foxes continued their good form from before lockdown with a 6-0 win against Kegworth.

Elsewhere, at County Hall the seniors were 3-0 winners against Merry Monarch, including a collectors item goal from player/manager Jamie Clarke! At South Charnwood the U11 Vixens returned to action in an even game with FC Burbage, while the U12 Foxes lost 5-0 to Albert Village but the result wasn't a fair reflection of the game.

Away from home both U8's got positive results in their league games as the Hawks made the short trip to Allexton & New Parks while the U8 Foxes continued their good run of results at Croft.

The U9 Hawks had a friendly at Wigston as they get their league campaign underway next week, while the U10 Foxes remarkable unbeaten run continued with their game at Aylestone Park.

The U11 Foxes played some good football in their game at Coalville while the U12 Lions won 5-2 at Birstall. The U13 Hawks played a friendly at Greentowers and scored nine as they prepared for their first league game back next week and the U14 Hawks drew 3-3 at Syston.

13 Glenfield United games, just one defeat. Well done to all our teams today.
