All 22 GUFC teams in action

All 22 of our teams were in action on Sunday, with some good results and performances recorded.
At Gynsill Lane, the under 7’s played their first ever league game as they welcomed Groby and put in a great performance, scoring plenty of goals along the way. The U13 Lions lost 7-2 to East Goscote but were still in the game until the last 10 minutes as the impact of injuries to players caught up with them. The U14 Hawks were comfortable 5-1 winners against Asfordby while the U15 Hawks lost 3-0 to unbeaten and table-toppers Lutterworth. The U17’s were made to pay for a slow start as they lost 2-0 against Dunton & Broughton.
At South Charnwood the U11 Hawks started their League Cup campaign with a 4-1 defeat to Studs while the U11 Vixens came out on top in a nine-goal thriller against Albert Village. Beaumont Leys School saw our U18’s lose 8-1 to a strong Quorn side but the first half performance was encouraging.
Away from home the U8 Foxes and U9 Foxes both gave spirited performances against strong Stoke Golding and Belton Villa respectively while the U8 Hawks had a friendly at Market Bosworth. The U9 Hawks put in an improved performance against Whetstone and the U10’s continued their run of good results as they travelled to Kibworth.
The U11 Foxes came from 2-0 down to get a 2-2 draw and a point in their opening League Cup group game at Whetstone. The U12 Hawks also drew 2-2 at Loughborough Dynamo and the U12 Lions were 5-1 winners at Oadby Owls.
The U13 Hawks lost 5-2 to a strong Melton side but the U14 Foxes were 5-4 winners against Anstey. The U15 Foxes lost 4-1 at Harborough Town, the U16 Foxes drew 3-3 at Rothley and the seniors lost 3-1 at Tap and Barrell.
