The grassroots season gets underway! Back at Gynsill Lane, long away trips and some impressive performances

19 teams in action on a glorious Sunday as teams get their league campaigns underway.

At Gynsill Lane, the U13 Foxes recovered from an early injury setback to draw 2-2 with Whetstone. The U14 Hawks put in a good first half performance but went on to lose 5-1 to a strong Croft side, while the U15 Hawks were 5-2 victors against a spirited Royce Rangers side.

On our 7v7 pitch, the U9 Foxes were narrowly edged out by Thurmaston while the U10 Hawks drew with Shepshed Dynamo - both games pretty evenly contested.

Beaumont Leys School saw our U13 Hawks record an emphatic and impressive 11-1 victory against Sporting Loughborough while County Hall saw our U16 Hawks and U17's played against each other in a pre-season friendly ahead of their season starting next week. South Charnwood saw our U7's had a close and competitive game against Kirby as they continue to develop and improve game by game.

Away from home the U9 Hawks were well rewarded following their long trip to Harborough while it was an early start for the U10 Hawks at Barwell and they played very well.

Our U11 Foxes and U12 Hawks both put in positive displays in their pre-season fixtures at Anstey ahead of their season starting next weekend. The U12 Vixens began their league campaign with a 5-1 defeat at Epworth Forest. The U13 Lions were 5-1 winners at Croft while the U14 Lions got their longest trip of the season to Oakham out of the way early and beat Royce Rangers 8-1.

The U15 Foxes recorded a 3-1 win at Fleckney while the U16 Foxes were good for their 3-0 victory at Blaby & Whetstone. Our Sunday men's side also had a long trip but were 4-3 victors at Castle Donington.
