Pre-season hasn't exactly gone to plan as both me and Steve have been working or on hols, the weather has been hit and miss and the lads have had holidays as well.
We have played two warm-up games to blow the cobwebs off, one against a high level Football First Academy, we did well in the first half to go in 2 nil down having missed a pen and hitting the crossbar, but we had no subs and it really began to take its toll in the second half. We missed another pen and had a few good chances on the break but ultimately went down 9-0 to a very good side.
The second friendly was on Tuesday this week against Bardon, so again a higher level team. We were hamstrung again by a lack of subs so the boys had to play the full 70mins against a Bardon team that had 6 subs, they are a good side too and while we created chances and fought to the final whistle it was 2 nil at half time and 4-1 at full time. We again created the chances on the break but ran out steam. The boys did themselves proud in both games, never giving up and attacking right to the final whistle.

Plenty to work on and it was good to get the lads together again to get some of the rust off and get things started ready for the first game of the season on the 1st of Sept against Community Football Academy. We aren't quite up to full strength yet due to an injury and a holiday but we do have subs and hopefully a new signing, yep even kids footy has last minute deadline day signings!

We also look forward to boys meeting our new shirt sponsor Gearys Bakery, Josh from Gearys will be coming down to meet the lads, present the new shirts and take a few photos for their in house magazine and to hopefully watch us get off to winning ways.
